Betty Simmons

PRINCIPAL + DIRECTOR OF OPERATIONS

As Director of Operations for Equity By Design, Betty leverages her decades of experience working in the philanthropic sector to ensure that all aspects of the firm’s operations remain process-, mission- and community-oriented.

Prior to forming the company, Betty served as an independent resource development and project management consultant for entrepreneurs and property developers. She has 20+ years of experience at the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation (RWJF), the nation’s largest foundation focused solely on access to health care, public health, and health equity, where one of her roles was to ensure that quality control processes remained in place when piloting
new programs and procedures. As a disciplined leader, Betty readily draws on these professional experiences to manage the following processes on behalf of the company: workflow management, financial modeling, relationship cultivation, client-capacity building and reporting.

With over a decade of experience in risk management and compliance roles on Wall Street, Nick brings a keen understanding of regulatory environments, financial strategy, and risk mitigation to his work in equitable development.
